QuickBits - Meet the Staff: Austin "Gridmaster Greer"

Austin started out with us back in 2020 during our beginners clinic in Spring of that year, bringing along with him a good ole stick axle 8.8 rear end equipped S13 Hatch. He quickly became a valuable member of the team in the following year, if you have been a driver or passenger in ANY of the cars this year your odds are good that you have seen the huge smile on top of a bright as heck button up shirt.

Austin quickly adopted the role on grid, keeping our shows rolling fast, smooth and effectively from the Fun Days to the $50K's! Many people might not notice or might not think about just how crucial the person manning the start line is to the function of a truly good and safe drift event. The drivers have to know that when they stage up, and are flagged off that they can confidently commit to a corner knowing that the track is clear and any cars in front of or behind them are safe and skilled drivers. The Gridmaster must not only watch the line as it progresses towards him, but also keep a close watch on the entire hot area to ensure that no drivers take on an unnecessary risk. Even with the weight of all things moving around him this man has always found a way to keep it fun. Making a switch over the last two years you'll now find him driving a C5 Corvette when he's not on the start line, which we are hoping our staff can see more of as we edge closer to the roll over into the 2024 season. With a re adjusted focus for next season we want to get our guys BACK in the drivers seat more and out with all of you again like we use to.

With a dedication to further the sport as well as the experience for drivers, you can pull to the line knowing that while the years go by our team stays true to our old tag line. We ARE enthusiasts, running events FOR enthusiasts - and Austin is one of MANY in our crew who keeps that dream alive. So give him a crisp high five and say hey next time you're out at the track with us!
